We have requests for information every month about the BRS system for the Cessna 172 and Cessna 182. For details about the system itself, their website is https://brsaerospace.com/

We usually schedule about two weeks down time for the plane. It takes roughly 55 hours if the rear shoulder harness is already installed in the plane and 65 hours if that harness has to be installed. There can be an additional 1 to 4 hours depending on antennas installed on the top of the cabin.

A little over one-third of the baggage compartment gets taken by the parachute footprint. The system adds 85 pounds on the 182 and 79 pounds on the 172, according to the BRS website.
